This audit covers all publicly accessible pages of the website. If you opt for the website accreditation, quarterly audits of the website will be
conducted to ensure ongoing compliance with the eco standard. The calculation of websites’ carbon emissions is based on a standardised
methodology. While the average carbon per page view is the most important metric, carbon rating is indicated above to drive further
carbon reduction of websites (A+ if the average is below 0.040g, A 0.079, B 0.145, C 0.209, D 0.278, E 0.359 and F ≥ 0.360). As of 10th April
2025, the Scientific Advisory Board has reduced the CO2e limit for websites from 0.65g to 0.35g per page view. This new target of 0.35g of
carbon per page view or less on average is now considered achievable for most websites and serves as an ambitious goal for carbon
reduction efforts. Through regular audits, EFWA helps you improve average carbon emissions per page view, improve your carbon rating,
and minimise your website's carbon footprint. The Scientific Advisory Board will continue to review the data, and further reductions may be
considered in the future.
